Middle Peninsula Regional Transit Facility Cuts Ribbon

The new $5 million Middle Peninsula Regional Transit Facility in Gloucester officially opened during a dedication ceremony on Thursday. Bay Transit, a division of Bay Aging, hosted a ribbon cutting and open house for local officials and dignitaries showcasing the new 18,000-square-foot building on Fiddlers Green Road. The facility houses buses that serve Gloucester, Mathews, Middlesex, King & Queen and King William. It was named for former U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Davis, who served as the representative for Virginia’s 1st District from 2001 until her death in 2007. She died of breast cancer at the age of 57.
