Locust Hill Man Charged With Arson

A Locust Hill man is charged with arson for setting a fire that destroyed his and his wife’s home last Saturday. According to the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office, 70 year old Larry Carter started the fire following a domestic problem. Carter is also charged with assault and battery of a household member. It was around 6:30PM on Saturday, the deputies were called to a domestic disturbance at the Carter home on Queens Point Drive in Locust Hill. While talking with the person who called them and outside the residence, the deputy heard an explosion inside, and then noticed smoke coming from the home. When they went in, they found Carter in the basement, which was filling with smoke. They pulled him out, and he was air-lifted to VCU Medical Center in Richmond where he was treated for smoke inhalation. Rosemarie Carter, his wife, was treated and released at an area hospital for injuries unrelated to the fire. The American Red Cross assisted Mrs. Carter due to the fire.
