BIG DRUG BUST NETS 13 FROM 20 TO 70

Thirteen people… from 20 to 70 years of age, and mostly Westmoreland County residents, were arrested early Monday as part of a drug roundup dubbed “Operation Spring Cleaning. The Westmoreland County Sheriff’s Office released a statement, saying the arrests were the result of the several-months long investigation by a drug task force that includes the Caroline, King George and Westmoreland sheriff’s offices, Virginia State Police and the Naval Criminal Investigative Services. Charges against those arrested include drug distribution and possession involving a variety of drugs including heroin, cocaine, “molly,” marijuana and oxycodone. Most of the cases will be handled in the Westmoreland court system… others will be heard in Richmond and Northumberland counties.
