In Middlesex County, the supervisors want to see unpaid taxes get paid! The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors met recently, and when the topic of taxes came up, it was decided that before taxes are raised again, the county needs to go after those who are not paying their taxes. While 97.8% of businesses in the county paid their Business, Professional, and Occupational License tax… and 86.06% paid meals taxes… there are still some businesses which are not paying anything, and they need to be targeted. According to the Southside Sentinal (www.ssentinel.com) the supervisors want to know how much the office of the commonwealth’s attorney has been involved in collection of unpaid taxes, after some reports say that office had not been regularly involved in the collection process.
