Concerns over COVID-19 have now caused yet more closures and cancellations. The latest to fall victim to the massive shutdowns, are the Urbanna Town pool which will remain closed for the entire season, and the cancellation of the holiday fireworks that had been planned for July 2. Urbanna leaders have now also decided to keep the bathroom and showers at the town marina closed until further notice. About $15,000 that would have been put toward operating expenses for the pool will now be moved into the pool replacement fund. Council also now will ask the fireworks company to credit the $5,000 deposit which the town has made to next year. The fireworks cost $11,000. No word though on whether or not the company will actually do that. Most generally, such deposits are non-refundable.
