A two-vehicle crash Sunday night on Route 14 in Gloucester proved fatal. Virginia State Police say it happened around 10:45PM Sunday just east of Crab Thicket Road. One vehicle according to The Gazette Journal (www.gazettejournal.net), was travelling west in the eastbound lanes of Route 14 when it collided head on with another car. The adult female driver of the first vehicle, along with a rear seat child passenger, were taken to Riverside Regional Hospital with serious injuries. Their names have not been released, and there has been no update on their conditions. A front seat passenger, 50 year old Robert Lindsay-Cruz of Williamsburg, was taken to Riverside Walter Reed Hospital where he later died. The driver of the other vehicle suffered serious injuries and was taken to Norfolk Sentara Hospital. That driver has also not been identified. Police say so far, they believe neither speed nor alcohol was a contributing factor. Charges they say, are pending.
