Governor Ralph Northam said he’s thought about resigning over the scandal stemming from his admission he wore blackface…

During an interview with CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King as part of CBS’ Face the Nation on Sunday, Northam said he believes he can still make a meaningful difference as governor. He said Virginia needs someone that can heal and there’s no better person to do that than a doctor, like himself. Northam has been called on to resign by lawmakers from both sides after a photo emerged earlier this month from his 1984 medical school yearbook showing two people, one in blackface and the other in a KKK robe. The governor insists the photo is not of him, but admitted he wore blackface to dress up as Michael Jackson. Northam says he needs to do what’s necessary to get the state to heal…

In the same interview Governor Ralph says he supports an investigation into Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax….

Northam also said he can only imagine that it must take tremendous courage for women to step forward and talk about these things. Fairfax was faced with sexual assault allegations. Fairfax said the accusations are very serious and need to be taken seriously. Northam has not called on Fairfax to resign. He says there are women who have strong feelings about what happened….
