The cause of a fire that destroyed a Miskimon home is being investigated by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Department. According to the Rappahannock Record the family was out of the Courthouse Road residence when the fire broke out but a daughter was still inside and got out before firefighters arrived. It took crews from 5 deparments to get the fire out and they were on scene for about 6 hours. A lack of water supply and high winds hampered firefigting efforts.
