Work is underway on the restoration of a 19th century Irvington home said to have been owned by a steamboat captain. The Rappahannock Record reports crews were at the Cedardale Lane residence on Monday to conduct foundation repairs and the new owners say they want to preserve as much of the home’s originality including its floors and windows while updating it to modern standards. The renovations are planned to be completed by the fall.
