A heads up if you use Route 14 between Gloucester and the West Point area. Beginning Wednesday a section one mile west of the intersection with Route 17 will be closed for a bridge replacement project over Poropotank Creek. The existing bridge was built in 1938 and is considered structurally deficient. Through traffic will be detoured for around six months while the new bridge is installed. The recommended detour route is via Route 33 and Route 17.
