The Virginia Department of Health now has a site that tracks COVID-19 outbreaks at Virginia Higher Education institutions. It includes confirmed outbreaks among public and private colleges and universities since August 1, 2020. A confirmed COVID-19 outbreak means that there were two or more confirmed COVID-19 cases associated with a particular setting. Officials say the goal is to increase awareness of the ways COVID-19 is spread at colleges and universities across Virginia.
