HOD Rejects Combat-Pay Bill

A House of Delegates committee unanimously rejects a bill requiring employers to provide hazard pay for essential employees and provide protective equipment in the event of a stay-at-home order. The measure called for time-and-a-half for hours worked while a stay at home or shelter in place order is in effect. Employers told the committee that requiring the additional pay could result in jobs being eliminated. The bill could be re-introduced at a later date.
