The Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office announced the County Animal Shelter is closed for adoptions at this time. The decision was made as a result of a recent situation involving a puppy that may have contracted a contagious disease. Out of an abundance of caution, and to ensure the health and safety of the other residential dogs the shelter was closed. It is scheduled to reopen on February 26th.
