The South African COVID variant is in Virginia. Health officials confirmed last week they had detected the first case in an adult in Eastern Virginia. And they say there will likely be others to come. They continue to urge Virginians to follow mitigation measures like wearing a mask, washing their hands and practicing social distancing.
