Town of Urbanna Mayor Barbara Hartley is no longer allowed to vote on matters coming before the Town Council. The Southside Sentinel reports that action was the result of Town Council Andy Bury’s determination that having the Mayor participate in Council votes violates the town charter as the Mayor is not a council member. The issue came to light as Bury had discussions with the attorney representing the individual planning to rebuild a marina on Urbanna Creek.
