1st District Congressman Rob Wittman issued a statement on the Democratic leadership’s plans to use budget reconciliation to pass spending plans with no Republican support. Wittman says they can absolutely work across party lines on budget reform, additional pandemic relief, and speed COVID-19 vaccination distribution but that can’t happen when Republicans are entirely cut out of the process. He added that by unilaterally advancing a shell budget House Democrats are denying half the nation a say in how Congress spends taxpayer money.
