Tappahannock Police announced they are getting numerous reports from town businesses of thefts of catalytic converters that are being cut from vehicles. The catalytic converter is part of the exhaust system and reduces pollution through the use of platinum and palladium which are two valuable metals. Theives steal the converters then strip the metals and sell them. If you see suspicious activity contact the Essex County Sheriff’s Office at 9-1-1 or 804-443-3347.
