Parents of kids who will turn 3 this year can now apply for the Kids First early childhood program offered in Lancaster and Middlesex Counties. According to the Kids First Foundation the pre-kindergarten program started 8 years ago as a way to close the learning gap experienced by children from struggling financial circumstances. The Rappahannock Record reports the Foundation has reached out to Northumberland and Mathews County schools to create their own Kids First programs.
