This summer Virginia will convene the first meeting of its LGBTQ+ Advisory Board. Under the measure signed into law by Gov. Ralph Northam the Board will have 26 members with 21 of them not being employed by the state. At least 15 of the members will be those who identify as LGBTQ+. Northam will appoint the board members. Virginia already has 5 other advisory boards and they advise the executive branch on issues important to their communities.
