A Richmond County Volunteer firefighter receives an award for his service to the community for nearly 20 years. The Northern Neck News reports the James Monroe Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented David Thomas with the Fire Safety Commendation Medal for his dedication to training and continuing education in firefighting, emergency driving and response, hazardous materials handling and his unselfish attitude of service. Thomas serves as the Richmond County VFD’s Assistant Chief.
