Virginia may be banning skill games – the machines that are like slot machines which you see at restaurants and gas stations – starting this summer. Governor Ralph Northam amended a House of Delegates bill to clarify that so-called “games of skill” will be prohibited beginning July 1. Last year the General Assembly passed a ban but it was delayed due to COVID-19 to give businesses time to prepare for the removal of the machines.
