Virginia is to invest $3.7 billion over the next 10 years to create an expansion of passenger, commuter and freight rail to both expand use and connect Virginia to national rail networks. According to Gov. Ralph Northam’s office Virginia will work with Amtrak, CSX and Virginia Railway Express to help get people and goods where they need to go more efficiently while reducing congestion and pollution plus create a more inclusive economy.
