The Gloucester Pharmacy is closing its doors after more than 20 years in business. A post on Facebook says the owners sold the business to Rite Aid. One reason for the closure is how pharmacies have changed over the years with decreasing reimbursements and the role Pharmacy Benefit Managers now have. It’s made it difficult for independent pharmacies to thrive. All active prescriptions are being transferred to Rite Aid.
