The American Red Cross gives a Colonial Beach Police Office the Lifesaving Award for his actions last August to rescue a woman who could not swim. According to Northern Neck News Officer Luke Gilliland received the award last month and the police department also bestowed their Lifesaving Award at the same time. Gilliland was called to the Colonial Beach Pier where he learned a woman fell off and dove in the water to save her.
