Virginia DOT officials say that work on Fairfield Landing Road in Hartfield is set to begin next month. The road was shut down last November because of erosion issues and according to the Southside Sentinel officials had planned to start repairs last December but complications with the permit process slowed the project start. The road also known as Route 708 was closed several years ago after it was washed out. There’s no word on how long repairs will take.
