Senate Rejects Northam’s Gun Rights Bill Amendment

An amendment made by Gov. Ralph Northam to a gun control bill which lengthens restricting gun rights for anyone convicted for assault and battery of a family member is rejected by the Senate. The original bill had a 3-year restriction but Northam wanted it to be 5 years. He also wanted to extend the bill to include individuals currently living together or who had cohabitated within 12 months. The House had approved Northam’s amendment.
