Middlesex County residents may be paying more in personal property taxes under the Board of Supervisor’s proposed fiscal year 2021-2022 budget. The Southside Sentinel reports the $29.4 million spending plan carries a 50 cent increase in the tax rate for vehicles and an 85 cent increase for recrational vehicles. The tax rate for large and small boats is unchanged as is the real estate and mobile home tax. An online public hearing on the budget takes place Thursday.
