An ATV rider is killed in an Essex County crash that happened early Saturday. Police say Jeremy Futchko of Tappahannock was on Route 610 heading eastbound when he went off the road to the left about a mile east of Route 684. The ATV then hit a jitch ejecting Futchko from the vehicle. He was not wearing a helmet. Futchko was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital. The crash is under investigation.
