The Virginia Department of Health announced public schools throughout the commonwealth will soon have regular COVID-19 testing. It’s part of a pilot program providing free rapid antigen tests to school districts on request. Participation is optional and parents will be asked to sign a consent form beforehand. Health officials say testing should begin in a few weeks but it is dependent on local districts since that’s where the tests will be managed.
