Virginia Private Schools Receive Federal Funding

Virginia’s private schools will receive nearly $47 million in federal funding to pay for COVID-19 related expenses and to ensure facilities can operate safety. The money comes from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act passed by Congress last December. Eligible private schools need to submit an application to the Virginia Department of Education by Apr. 26. According to the Virginia Council on Private Education there are nearly 490 private K-12 schools across the Commonwealth.
