Virginia Restarts Adjunct Emergency Workforce Program

A Virginia program that allows state employees to help during states of emergency is now reactivated to help in the battle against COVID-19. The Commonwealth of Virginia Adjunct Emergency Workforce was initially created in 2007 after Hurricane Katrina. The long-term goal is to quickly identify qualified state employees and re-deploy them to augment critical staffing nears during declared emergencies.
Workers are now in the Virginia Department of Health Central Office and 2 health districts.
