Bond is denied again for a Weems man charged in a 2020 homicide. The Rappahannock Record reports Matthew Chapman was in court last Friday for the bond hearing. He’s charged with killing John Gordon of Kilmarnock at Chapman’s former home in White Stone. Chapman is facing a second degree murder charge after a judge ruled last year that prosecutors failed to show the shooting was premeditated. A trial date will be set next week.
