Gas Shortages Easing In Virginia

Gas shortages in Virginia appear to be easing now that the Colonial Pipeline has resumed operations. The pipeline was shut down for 6 days as the result of a ransomware attack forcing Colonial to pay $5 million to a Russia-based hacker group. As of Monday, GasBuddy reports about 31% of Virginia’s gas stations are out of fuel. That’s down from around half of the stations out last week. GasBuddy officials say it could take up to two weeks for things to get back to normal in the commonwealth.
