The Kilmarnock Town Council heard the first reading of the proposed fiscal year 2022 budget at its meeting on Monday. According to the Rappahannock Record the neary $7.1 million spending plan comes with no changes to taxes and fees for the general fund portion which totals just over $3 million. Sewer rates will be increasing by $10 per 2-month billing period. Officials say Kilmarnock will get around $1.26 million from the American Rescue Plan Act passed by Congress.
