Lancaster County Public Schools received a $600,000 grant to go toward constructing the Early Childhood Education Center on School Street in Kilmarnock. According to the Rappahannock Record the donation came from the Nettie Lokey Wiley and Charles L. Wiley Foundation and makes up over a third of the center’s nearly $1.5 million construction cost. The district already allocated a half-million dollars from the 2021 capital improvement plan and is expected to receive an additional $197,000 when budgets are finalized.
