FEMA announced federal disaster assistance has been made available to Virginia as a result of severe winter storms in February. According to Northen Neck News the money can go to commonwealth, tribal and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities. Funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures.
