Northumberland County Collects Nearly 9.5 Tons Of Hazardous Waste

Northumberland County’s household hazardous waste collection event on May 1 rounded up more than 9-1/2 tons of waste from close to 175 participants. According to the Rappahannock Record more than 3 tons of items collected were recycled electronic devices. Officials say the strong turnout was expected because COVID-19 gave people more time to clean out garages and basements. The next collection event will take place in November.
