Virginia Redistricting Committee Waiting For Census Data So They Can Get To Work

The Virginia Redistricting Committee won’t be able to get to work on its mission to draw new state legislative and congressional maps until August – and committee officials say that means not a lot of time to get things in place for the general election. The Committee uses the 2020 Census data for the new maps and once it arrives in August the panel has 45 days to draw state legislative maps and 60 days to draw congressional maps.
