Virginia’s Recidivism Rate Ranks Second-Lowest In The Country

Governor Ralph Northam announced Virginia’s recidivism rate which is the tendency of a convicted criminal to reoffend remains among the lowest in the United States for the fifth year in a row. Northam say all VIrginians benefit when the individuals in the correctional system have the opportunity to learn, grow and return to society as productive citizens and the low rate is the direct result of effective reentry programs and strong partnerships across the commonwealth.
