The household hazardous waste collection event held last month in Westmoreland County was one for the record books. According to Westmoreland News close to 75 households dropped off over 3 tons of waste making it the highest amount collected in eight years. Officials cancelled both collection events in 2020 due to COVID-19. Another collection event will take place in in late October at at the A.T. Johnson Building. Each household may bring up to 100 lbs. of waste at no charge.
