Flash Flooding On Friday Shuts Down Roads

Heavy rains on Friday caused flash flooding and crews having to be called to rescue people from the rushing waters. That happened on Peach Grove Road in Richmond County where an SUV got trapped and rafts were used to get the couple to safety after a ladder truck couldn’t reach the vehicle. Officials say Montross received more than 6 inches of rain. White Chapel Road in Lancaster County and Hampton Hill Road in Northumberland County were also flooded out.
