The General Assembly will reconvene August 2nd in order to fill judicial vacancies and decide how to distribute more than $4.3 billion in federal coronavirus relief funding. The special session also will mark the General Assembly’s return to its Virginia State Capitol chambers for the first time since March 2020. Last year’s special session lasted for 86 days which was a new record. It’s not known how long this year’s session will run.
