The Virginia Department of Transportation announced the bridge at Gwynn’s Island will open to marine traffic six times a day until a long-term repair project begins later this year.
The moveable swing span bridge over Milford Haven will open at 2:00 a.m., 5:00 a.m., 8:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m., 7:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The scheduled bridge openings will ensure vehicles on Old Ferry Road have continuous access to travel between Gwynn’s Island and the mainland Bridge openings were halted after the structure could not be closed properly.
