Mathews Broadband Advisory Board Seeks Communication Tower Approval

The Mathews County Board of Supervisors is being asked to approve a plan to build a pair of communications towers to expand broadband internet service. The Gazette-Journal reports the request from the Mathews Broadband Advisory Board also comes with a plan to seek nearly $2.5 million in grants to pay for the towers and necessary equipment. The Board also voted to recommend an extension the county’s contract with consulting firm Broadband Telecom for another six months to a year.
