The Mathews County Board of Supervisors moved its meeting from the Historic Courthouse to the Harry M. Ward Auditorium in Mathews High School. According to reporting from WAVY-TV the move was considered after the Board received a letter from the Mathews NAACP because the association was concerned over anger expressed against the Board and county staff, and since guns aren’t allowed on school grounds the auditorium was deemed a safer location. The vote was 3-2 in favor to move the meetings.
