Expanding high-speed internet access in Mathews County is moving forward now that the Board of Supervisors approved a plan developed by the county Broadband Advisory Board. According to the Gazette-Journal the plan calls for 2 communications towers and 18 repeater stations. The next step is to come up with the money to pay for the project and that’s being worked on by the Broadband Board. Supervisors did agree to renew a contract with Broadband Telecom Services, the company that developed the plan.
