Mathews Officials Remind Parents To Be Careful With Their Kids Around The Water

Officials with Mathews Social Services remind parents to be extra cautious when bringing young children near the water. Family Services Supervisor Lisa Burns-Brown tells the Gazette-Journal it can take as little as 20 seconds for a child to drown and some people don’t have experience around docks, beaches or boats so they want to make sure children are safe. Burns-Brown says lack of proper supervision is the leading cause of children’s drowning.
