Middlesex County gives back nearly $1.75 million in federal and state funding because a brewpub-restaurant project fell through due to COVID-19. According to the Southside Sentinel about $1.3 million was to go towards construction on the old Rappahannock Elementary School site at Cooks Corner,The rest would have gone to workforce housing units behind the Cooks Corner Office Complex. County officials say they hope to land a new developer for the former school site.
