SCOTUS Rules Against Gloucester Trangender Bathroom Ban

The U.S. Supreme Court rejected the Gloucester County School Board’s appeal to reinstate its transgender bathroom ban. The case resulted from a federal lawsuit filed by former student Gavin Grimm who was told he could not use the boys’ bathroom at his public high school. Prior lower court rulings found the ban unconstitutional and by a 7-2 margin the justices left the rulings in place. It’s the third time the Supreme Court allowed decisions in support of transgender students to remain in place.
