Time Capsule In Lee Monument To Be Removed

When Virginia removes the statue of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee from the city of Richmond’s Monument Avenue officials say they hope to recover a time capsule buried nearlly 135 years ago. According to published reports the capsule made from copper may contain a rare and historically significant photo of a deceased President Abraham Lincoln. The statue’s removal is pending outstanding litigation resolution. Governor Northam’s office says a new time capsule will be put in the former memorial’s location.
